Hi!
I need help. After upgrading my CPU to an i7 8700k (from i7 8700), MacOS won't boot.
The progress bar doesn't go more than 20%.
If I reinstall my old CPU (i7-8700), I'm able to boot again.
Here are the steps that were taken to solve the problem:
- Flashed the bios to the latest version (F5 for Gigabyte AORUS I WIFI)
- In clover configurator, I activated in SMBIOS the profile Imac18.1
Is there something else I should do before changing the CPU ?

This sounds like a problem that shouldn't be, but clearly does.

Can you boot to the Clover menu with your UniBeast flash drive?

:)

My i7-8700K is giving me problems shutting down, but does boot fine. I have the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro WiFi ATX mb. My config file from the USB is attached.

This is really strange. I did a similar upgrade from i7-8700K to i9-9900K. I didn't change anything and it just worked.

Please post your EFI folder.

Hi! Thank you for your help. it turns out the cpu was the problem. It sent back the 8700k and bought a 9700k and was able to boot just fine. Mac OS is running smoothly.
I don't know if it could be related but in the bios the 8700k appeared like Pentium Gold but in the cpu it was engraved i7 8700k. Weird!

So the only difference in the configuration file, is that I modified the Smbios setting to iMac 18,1. I also flashed the bios from version F1 to version F5.
Apart from that everything is the same.
