Went to App Store to download PB5 today. Downloaded OK and I made my USB installer and did a clean install on the X58A - no problems except no audio. Decided to check an update over PB4, so cloned my existing PB4, added Clover, shutdown, removed original working PB4 drive and booted. Went to App Store and hit the update center - had iTunes and Sierra updates so I clicked update all. Only enough, what I got was not PB5 - according to the update center what I downloaded and installed was DB6!
Anybody else have this happen? Screen Shot 2017-08-20 at 11.36.51 AM.png

Welcome to the dev beta club. It has happened to many of us, it seems they are releasing the dev beta as public beta. I informed a Moderator and I hope there is some leniency for posting results and or comments for those affected.

I have same thing. DP4 instead PB3 and DP6 instead PB5Screen Shot 2017-08-21 at 10.18.19.png

PB6 Released.

Just a quick question though, I have a single m.2 850 evo SSD which I had equally partitioned for windows 10 pro and macOS Sierra. I further partitioned the macOS into two, one to hold Sierra and the other is for testing High Sierra. How does the EFI partition works in this scenarios?

I already done the above, however my High Sierra partition seems to look weird! When I get back home I post a screenshot of the disk layout.

Everybody did. :) DB6 is the same as Public Beta 5.

Used the App Store install to avoid APFS
(In earlier update using that file system I got corruption?)

Install update was fast and uneventful...

Booted to new beta version straight away with no problems.
Checked the 2 AMD patched kexts 9510 and 4100 and they were not replaced with this update.

Everything seemed to be working including sleep with video fine on my Radeon RX570 card after sleep.

However after allowing to sleep again for undetermined time when I checked a couple of hours later system had rebooted?
I Tri-boot Sierra/High Sierra/Windows 10 with primary being Sierra

Which is how I knew reboot since when I came back was in Sierra login

So will investigate further later today

Seemed short time between betas so perhaps a September release?

Public Beta 6 is out. Sleeps/resumes better with external USB hard drive controllers. All older versions of Macos failed to resume from sleep with a certain USB hard drive controller of mine (its power would be lost as the computer went down for sleep). But this latest beta works well with this controller and sleep! This is a minor issue of course.

Also, I can now (again) have two video cards in the system where one has drivers/acceleration and the other does not. In PB4 and PB5, the window server failed to boot.

Only downside: nv_disable=1 bootflag isn't working to enable VESA graphcis mode. Also, still getting that "unable to update firmware" error whenever a windows formatted drive is installed. This isn't the case for Sierra or the first couple of High Sierra builds. What gives? Is there a way around this error?

Just installed Version 7 from App Store. Now About this Mac shows I have macOS High Sierra Version 10.13 Beta (17A352a).

Change your board-id to an iMac14,2 iMac13,2 or MacPro6,1. You can even do that in the Clover boot screen. I used Lilu + NvidiaGraphicsFixUp before, but now I'm using this method. I don't know if placebo, but my geekbench scores increased like 200 points. My original SMBIOS is iMac11,3.

There's no need to change anything else from your SMBIOS, just the board-id.

The list of board ids is here: https://gist.github.com/rtrouton/e6cf0f4064aea52fac2e5116c4b05f2e

The reason for this is that the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext checks the board-id and not the whole SMBIOS to manage the graphics and in some cases it disables the video signal. That's what NvidiaGraphicsFixup does, it spoofs the MacPro6,1 board id and therefore the AGDP is not loaded and you get video signal.

Sorry for the long post.

Cheers!
Does the changing board-id impact other kernel functions such as power management, etc?
