    Hi guys,

I've successfully managed to fresh install macOS High Sierra on my hackintosh with msi Z97 Gaming 3 mobo. However, as always I've run into the problem of no audio. I've tried some tutorials on this forum with VoodoHD and Realtek audio guides no luck. If I remember clearly back in Sierra, using Multibeast I think I installed ALC 1150, 898 kexts for audio on this board. Not 100% sure.

Could you please help me get back Audio on this mobo. It sucks because back then, we could use multibeast.

    Hope you will help.

    Thanks

    @toleda could you please help?

I've tried messing around with different guides, even VoodoHDA no luck yet. Guess not having multibeast really sucks :(

Please help, I do not wanna do another clean install as I struggled with this successful install for 1.5 days.

hi @j57 I had moved apfs.efi file to clover usb when I was doing the fresh install, bu I chose MacOS Extended Journaled during installation in disk utility to make sure that the entire drive does not get APFS. And after install I moved apfs.efi file to clover location. Now it is APFS partition.

But how you use MultiBeast with APFS? I have APFS too but in MultiBeast in drive dropdown I don't see my system drive...

thanks for the link @toleda , Unfortunately, I'm very confused as to where to begin. Now I have installed many drivers as I said. How can I delete/uninstall them all and start fresh without doing a clean install?

And what is the Audio kext suitable for my motherboard Z97 Gaming 3? ALC 1150, ALC 898? Could you please make the install instructions little comprehensible for me?

    Thanks a bunch.

Hey not sure if you are still trying to get audio to work. I gave up and got one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/?tag=tonymacx86-21

    Cheap and works great.

Okay! I have the same issue installing high sierra on NUC6i5SYH.
But after a lot of messing around i have got a temporary solution i will be sharing. i hope some senior member could help turn it into a permanent solution.

    What i did:
    > Installed High Sierra from bootable USB (unibeast method).
    > Ran multibeast high sierra version for all the drivers, everything works except for audio as ALC283 was not in options available, which is needed for my NUC device.
(NOTE: This version of multibeast recognised my ssd(hd) and installed drivers on the ssd(hd).
    > IMP: Next i ran multibeast sierra version, installing only ALC283 and 100 series audio driver. And bingo! audio works.
(NOTE: This version of multibeast doesn't recognise my ssd but installs the drivers on my bootable USB, still plugged in).
    > The audio works only till reboot, i guess the driver is installed only on the temporary drive.

So, we have the audio driver but it is in the old version of multibeast which doesnt recognise the newer hardware i guess.
If we could find a way to get that driver installed on the ssd, main boot drive, the problem will be solved.

    Any suggestions will be helpful!
