try the latest version from here:

I have Z390 Designer SMBIOS iMac19,1 - Patch limit are OK
on Z370 extreme 4 SMBIOS IMacPro1,1 - Patch Not Work
Asus Z77 SMBIOS IMacPro1,1 - XHC are have only 4 USB / 4USB2 and No need patch. but work
I update USBInject kext to 0.73 and can not make it.
SO I make my old method with make my own Kext and now work with 15limit :)

Did you upgrade from 10.15.0 to 10.15.1 ?
If so, was your port-limit removal patch working with 10.15.0 ?

:)

Problem solved with XHCI-unsupported.kext.

That is actually a very strange result because XHCI-unsupported kext targets certain XHCI controllers and hasn't been updated for over a year - and knows nothing of Catalina. Your motherboard and controller have not changed ...

Glad you have sorted the problem
