Pre Update Notes
:
- This update may break some of your Big Sur functions. Make sure you backup first. :thumbup:

- Make sure you use the latest versions of the Lilu.kext, AppleALC.kext and WhateverGreen.kext.

Here's the step by step way to update:
:ch:Backup your current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper;

:ch: Update to the latest Clover or OpenCore 0.7.2/3.
See the tonymacx86 Clover Builds (in Download menu) to update Clover. To update your OpenCore, see this guide. To convert from Clover to Open Core, see this guide.

Note: Before updating to Big Sur 11.6, see Acidanthera Updates: September 2021 for OC 0.7.3 Update Notes.

Note #2: Before you update, make sure your USB ports are properly mapped. I recommend you use this procedure by @ohchang in his post here to do the USB port mapping or the USB ports will not work.

:ch: Download the Big Sur 11.6 Update from Apple's Mac App Store using System Preferences > Software Update, and run it - the updater will reboot upon completion.
Note: Update will reboot several times; each time Clover/OpenCore picks the correct boot partition. So, sit back and relax. The update takes 2 reboots and ~25 minutes to complete.

Success with Clover 5139, and latest kexts. Three restarts, over total of 25 minutes. All seems good!

Literally fired up update download, walked away and forgot about it. Came back and it was back to desktop on 11.6. OC 0.7.3 making sure it auto picks installs container worked like a charm while I was afk and it updated without a hitch like a real mac.

Finally began working on upgrading OC 6.4 to OC 7.3 when this update dropped. No issues, 3 reboots and 35 minutes later with existing OC 6.4 configuration and kexts.
