If only they'd add support for RX 6800 XT

now which partition are you booting from ? Main or perboot ?
Interesting question. It seems to be the case that Big Sur always MUST boot into its "Preboot" partition. However during the update, there was a temporary Preboot Install, separate from the preboot for big sur.

During regular booting, I used a Clover option to hide the main partition and rename the preboot partition so that it auto-boots into that one.

Here is the relevant text for the config file. You have to find the correct volume numbers on your drive for the partitions you want to hide or make default. (I am hiding MosheSSD, renaming the preboot partition to macOS Big Sur, and using it).

<key>Hide</key>
<array>
<string>Windows</string>
<string>\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI</string>
<string>MosheSSD</string>
</array>

12gb is the problem..... In rural Heraklion, Crete (island), Greece.... this is a problem mate.....!!!!
How big is the file downloaded thru the system preferences????
If OTA works, it will just download about 3.5 GB for 11.1.

i have just converted from clover to open core for the use of Big Sur.
Systems runs great so far.
Now this is my first OS update with open core.
1 updated all kext
2 downloaded the update with system update
3 hit restart (on start up there was a new drive called
macintosh hd. But the istaller started into Bid Sur partion
4 the install started said about 10 min. After 10 min i was back
into Big sur.... no more restart but also it is still on 11.01

what went wrong any ideas?

Do i actually have to update open core to 0.6.4 ? i am on
