This also worked for me on installer because it was showing a black screen, then boot up with integrated GPU after installing update and installed WEG 1.3.4

Update went smooth. My reference RX 5700 XT works perfectly out of the box without Whatevergreen.kext.

Played it safe and updated WEG to v1.3.4 before initiating the update. Everything seems to be working fine but will withhold judgment until I've put my system through its paces.

With AMD cards like RX570 whatevergreen.kext in the new version 1.3.4 ist absolutely mandatory, otherwise the screen remains black after boot.

This is not the case for me.
My RX 570 no longer needs WEG.
Booted with -disablegfxfirmware and Inject ATI with renames change GFX0 to IGPU and change PEGP to GFX0.
