Did you update Clover? Previous versions had trouble seeing the installer boot files.

Last Clover update. 4428 Version.

Your system drive or "Boot OS X Install..." may have been chosen. Follow tonymacx86's guide:

"6. At Clover boot screen, choose Boot macOS Install option (Example: Boot macOS Install from Macintosh HD). Choosing your system drive will go back to your previous installation without updating.

7. Complete the installation process- the computer will automatically reboot a few times.

8. At Clover boot screen, choose Boot macOS option (Example: Boot macOS from Macintosh HD). The computer will then complete the update."
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/update-directly-to-macos-high-sierra.232707/

You'll know it's updating because it will restart several times. Make sure Boot macOS Install is chosen until it disappears in the Clover boot screen.

Unfortunately, I had to reinstall my OS, as it kept saying "This system cannot be upgraded, an error has occurred." After reinstall, the upgrade works fine. It's odd, but that's what I had to do. :-/

Hi everyone Hackingtosher, I have need of some questions before doing this update!!!
I do not understand if i must update the apfs files, replace new Nvidiafixupkext, fix USB ports and update Nvidia web driver before or after the update???
Currently I have High Sierra 10.13, I can update via App-store or is better the combo update?
During the update when the system reboot since I have a dual boot with windows which partition I must select in clover boot options???

Thanks in advance :):):)
Jibooom88, there's a lot going on here.
(1) Before you try this update, CLONE your drive so that you can recover. If you don't have a spare drive, buy one. You can make a straight clone with the free version of SuperDuper! which I highly recommend. Having a clone is essential to updating because it can (will) save loads of misery.

(2) You say you're updating from "10.13" I assume that means 10.13.0, and if that's true you must use the combo update, and you can do it through the store or download direct. (I always use store, but some people have problems with that.)

BEFORE THE UPDATE:
(3) Whatever kexts you used with your install of 10.13.0 ALL MUST be updated to the latest version. ALL KEXTS MUST be updated!
Two important ones were updated a few hours ago:
https://github.com/lvs1974/NvidiaGraphicsFixup/releases (official 1.2.5, must be used with Lilu)

https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu/releases (official 1.2.3)
If you are at 10.13.0 then you've missed all the fun and drama of NVIDIA's latest drivers! Count yourself lucky and install these two kexts' new versions to avoid screen LAGs.

(4) Clover MUST be updated to the latest version. I hope you use Clover Configurator and if so you could update it from this app. I usually directly download it.

(5) NO kexts go into your disk/System/Library/Extensions. If you have any of your added kexts in the System folder, REMOVE THEM.

(6) You can put your kexts into your disk/Library/Extensions folder using KextBeast (not by just dragging or pasting them). You must use KextBeast (or another kext installer) or they will not be properly installed.

(7) Or you can remove ALL your added kexts from those two folders and instead put ALL your kexts into your disk EFI folder: your disk/EFI/EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other. You can mount your EFI with Clover Configurator. Use only the "Other" folder. The additional folders within "Kexts" should be deleted; just keep the "Other" folder. Adding kexts to your disk (or "system") EFI file will be done by dragging or pasting them.

(8) Even if you place all the other kexts into ~/Library/Extensions, FakeSMC.kext should be in /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other. The UPDATED apfs.efi MUST be placed into the system EFI folder: your disk/EFI/EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI.

(9) Follow the directions in post #2
"For Nvidia Maxwell/Pascal graphic cards users (see 2nd and 3rd note above), you'll need to do the following once the Nvidia web driver is released for the 10.13.4 Update:
* Backup your current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper;
* Update your apfs.efi according to tonymacx86s guide How to Update + Current and Past apfs.efi Downloads;
* Modify your /EFI/EFI/Clover/config.plist file to replace the USB port limits patch with the patch in Post #84;
* Download the High Sierra 10.13.4 Update or Combo Update in Post #1 or use the Mac App Store.
* Download the latest Nvidia web driver for 10.13.4 Update.
Method to use existing NVIDIA drivers here.
* Run the High Sierra 10.13.4 Mac App Store Update - the updater will reboot upon completion;
* The updater will cause your system to reboot several times (see Post #52 for details);
* First reboot, make sure the Installer is selected;
* Second reboot will go into MacOS;
* Upon rebooting, run the Nvidia web driver pkg and reboot when its completed it's installation;
* Check to see if your audio is working. If not, restart. Still no audio, post to No Audio Devices - AppleHDA Realtek Audio.
* If you having trouble using your USB 3 ports, see Post #84 for a config.plist modification."

(10) There are many specific issues/fixes for Z270 systems. Consult:
A. Successful builds using z270 chipsets described in tonymacx86.com, especially if updated to 10.13.4
B. This post #321 by pastrychef about a z170 build, for some of the specific suggestions that might be useful:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...4-387-10-10-10-30.249039/page-33#post-1724716
C. This guide from elsewhere to consult if not follow:
https://www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh...ings_of_a_hackintosher_a_sorta_brief_vanilla/

AFTER THE UPDATE:
(11) If you're able to boot into 10.13.4, the rest is cake.
(12) I strongly suggest you uninstall the previous NVIDIA web driver. Use the preference pane in System Preferences (icon in dock). Now, follow the quote from post #2 above from "*Upon rebooting..."

I hope this helps. Cheers!

I also dual boot with Windows. First, disconnect all SATA drives other than your macOS boot drive, particularly any Windows drive. After you start the update process and your system reboots, when you reach the Clover menu you will see a new entry "Boot macOS Install" on your drive, and choose this. Do NOT choose "Boot OS X Install..." and do NOT choose the entry for your usual disk "Boot mac OS..." from your drive name. The install process will mean several restarts--keep choosing "Boot macOS Install" until this entry has disappeared, at which time you choose your usual boot disk "Boot macOS [No "Install"]. Installation isn't done yet, but you've run the gauntlet.
