macOS 10.13.3 Update

@toxdafox
You should use .106 as that's the latest driver without issues. It's the driver released with 10.3.2. I personally haven't tested the InsanelyMac repackager but I looked at the code and it extracts whatever file is there with .pkg as extension and uses commandline tools to get the build version. Just make sure you have 10.3.3 installed before you run the repackager and it should work.

I used the app linked in post 125 to downgrade from the .156 release to .106. It's much simpler - even though the app is in German. macOS 10.13.3 Update.

On a side note, can anyone help me change my tonymac rig profile to EVGA GeForce GTX 950 SC? I do not see that card as an available model. Oddly enough I see other profiles with that card specified.

Thanks for you quick reply.
I tried your recommendations.
Sadly its only a little bit better.
But it slows down in cycles. Perfect cycles of a couple of seconds per slow, then performs just fine.
And this only affects browsers.
The rest of the computer is fine. Meaning Photoshop, Premiere, Finder, etc... are all unaffected.
Or at least it's not noticeable.
It's such a wierd problem.

I use profile 18.3 and updated the kexts we normally use on a Hackintosh installation. Also, before fixing the chrome lag I switched for a few days to Firefox

Today Apple released macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 Update, a major software update to macOS High Sierra. Update any supported system using the built-in Software Update functionality through the Mac App Store, or by using the standalone installer available from Apple.com.

Be sure to back up any important data, and if possible clone your hard drive before applying the update. If you have any issues post-update, press spacebar, and boot using Safe Mode.

What we know about 10.13.3 so far...
  • macOS Build 17D47
  • Kernel updated to Darwin 17.4.0
  • Separate Update for iMac Pro: macOS Build 17D2047
  • Updated Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD graphics drivers
  • This update will replace your audio drivers. If you enabled Realtek onboard audio using MultiBeast or the cloverALC script, no changes will be necessary.
  • If boot stalls upon update, install FakeSMC.kext in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other. This is default as of MultiBeast 10.2.
  • Install macOS High Sierra App has been updated - If you downloaded macOS High Sierra from the App Store prior to today, and you want to have the latest version on your backup installer USB, simply log into the Mac App Store and click Download. The updated Install macOS High Sierra App can be found in the Applications folder.
Testing is now underway- this post will be updated. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! Report your results here.

not working here,
i should be able to réinstall the .106 Webdriver indeed but it had no effect, it worked exactly the same as the "Default macOS driver" (or no driver) without scaled resolutions and no graphic acceleration.
ps: i tried the 2 ways (only "Webdriver All Versions" let me use the 106 instead of 156.
Now i just must wait for 10.13.4 and a new fully working Nvidia webdriver.

Same here. Uninstalling and reinstalling a previous version makes no difference. I now get the black screen after boot (which I never, ever, ever had before) unless I disable nvidia. I have no idea what changed, but now I'm dead in the water and none of the black screen fixes I've tried work for me.

It's not that kind of black screen. You might try booting with nvidia disabled, installing webdriver.sh then running these commands in a terminal
Code:
sudo webdriver -c -u https://images.nvidia.com/mac/pkg/378/WebDriver-378.10.10.10.25.104.pkg
and
Code:
sudo webdriver -m
then
Code:
sudo rm -f /Users/*/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.windowserver*
then rebooting without disabling nvidia.

Thanks but it didn't help. Instead of using webdriver, I used Repackager and I made the manual edit to the NVDAStartupWeb plist. The only thing new here was the window server deletes. I did those this time, but had the same results. I uninstall everything, install .104, reboot, and it says I'm using the web drivers, but lo-res and no graphics acceleration. Well, I guess I just realized I didn't disable nvidia on boot and I didn't get the black screen. So that is an improvement. But still no success with the driver.

Check that your manual edits match the OS version you are running.

Thanks. I believe it's correct:

<key>NVDARequiredOS</key>
<string>17D47</string>

Since the black screen went away, I decided to try the latest drivers again afterwards. I've never seen the lag people are talking about because it seems the driver just never loads.

From System Information:

NVDAStartupWeb:

Version: 10.29.10
Last Modified: 1/23/18, 7:48PM
Bundle ID: com.nvidia.NVDAStartupWeb

So I think I have a completely different problem from other people. But it definitely started after the 10.13.3 update. If I don't figure it out, I'll post a new thread in the correct forum.

Thanks.
