What about macOS Sierra? will it get some kind of security update for adressing Meltdown - Spectre?

AFAIK, the bug was introduced by the 10.13.1 patch to High Sierra, so the issue does not apply to 10.12 Sierra users.

I just updated to High Sierra last week, straight into 10.13.2, so I thought I had bypassed the issue until I saw this supplemental update. If there was an issue/fix, I have traded dual monitor NVIDIA support for security. :)

Here's a little article that may help you find the rabbit hole: https://www.wired.com/story/macos-update-undoes-apple-root-bug-patch/

The Apple root bug is completely different from Meltdown and Spectre. These bugs are in the processor handling of elevated privileges, and so were OS-independent. That is why Linux, Windows, MacOS and iOS were all having patches sent out in the past week. Core parts of the OS are being modified to remove the impact of these processor bugs. The extent and impact of these bugs is dependent on which processor you have.

Installed direct from AppStore with no problems.

cant upgrade on hfs+ raid 0 volume....uhmmm...

Update through App Store went smooth here with no issues whatsoever. :)

Stuck at Apple Logo With the progress bar after running the update and can't go to safe mode as I had choose and option for fast boot in Clover configuration under boot section and stuck on this screen from a long time please help me what needs to be done

My own personal hell, lol. We don't need 17C88, we need 17C205.
