Follow the UniBeast Installation Guide using the latest UniBeast 1.6.x, the latest MultiBeast for Mountain Lion and the latest Mt Lion Installation app from the Apple Mac App Store.

I favor the SanDisk Extreme SSD line. However, the Samsung 830 or 840 Pro are good units. (The Samsung 840 is in the same class as OCZ Aligity.) Do your research, though. I like to use Anandtech.com and Tom's Hardware sites for reviews.

I know this is an older thread and may not be anyone watching...

For the life of me, i cannot get anything newer than 10.6.8 on my machine. It's served me well the last 5 years, but I've been trying to update to El Capitan (I believe that's the highest we can go to from SL).

I get errors trying to install Mt Lion as well as Capitan.

I have screen shots in the El Capitan thread. No replies yet.
