Mackintosh and Audio Video Bridge (AVB)

I have Motu ultralite AVB I'm trying to run it on MacPro 5,1 which is officialy not supported.
After small research I have found i210 network card and it supports AVB.
But even the card is recognised and works in this mac, AVB streams is not available.

Have you seen this card? This is reported as working with AVB on an AVID forum. Compatible with Windows and Osx

Have you tried the MOTU firmware update? http://www.motu.com/avb/using-your-motu-avb-device-as-a-mac-audio-interface-over-avb-ethernet/

In el capitan you don't need to use avbdeviced command.

Reliably running my Hackintosh with Yosemite and considering an AVB interface for recording. Does anybody know if they play well together? I talked to MOTU about their 112D and they snubbed my computer (of course) and blindly said my Intel motherboard won't work with the Mac drivers. They might be right, but they were too quick to dismiss this.....

I remember that I have installed this card in my friend's hack
and this card may have BMC chipset .... I will check it and come with report ... stay tuned

Asking for an update; is there any details on how Motu AVB devices work via USB? I am currently doing my 1st build for my studio, my main interfaces are MOTU 24ai and 24ao which I am planning to use with the build.

If you need to use MOTU AVB via usb there should be no problem since there is regular driver for this.
we are talking about to receive AVB streams via AVB enabled network cards (which need specific driver for this network card)

Hi,
I have a 16A and I am finding USB dropouts to the extent that protools pops up a window saying the hardware has changed and can't carry on.
I restart the 16A and works ok for a bit and then it goes again.
This is on a GA-h170n-wifi. I have created a custom SDST for just the ports in use and I still get disconnect issues.

I have tried using AVB but it looks like the built in ethernet port is not compatible.
