Glad its solved!
You have a E3-1200 installed to this MB I see.
That works well?

Hello all, short update as it has been a while. Over time I have been tinkering and finally came to this result. Comments given here made me think about the option to have various display models 7 - 9,6” made to fit as a module mount. This is a similar way as the original macintosh installment. So here it is…

And this is how it looks right now in real life….
It does fit really nice in the Classic II enclosure. Only a few small modifications needed. This 3mm plywood proto setup is more stable than expected. The final version is planned to be lasercut in Alu or stainless steel, but plywood can also be the cheaper option.

The displaymount is now fully adjustable and can also be adapted to the needed display dimensions. (by modifying the 3D printed part)

Anyhow, I am now wondering if the plus, classic or other macintoshes (?) versions have different internal dimensions.
Does anyone here have some knowledge about that?
Because if so, this itx cradle would or can be a standard solution in this matter.

Looking forward to hear your comments or suggestions!

Status so far….
All parts fit good, no big issues.
The display is well adjustable, and can decently be set/fixed.

Cooling:
These two 120mm fans make it a bit crowded.
Maybe a straight up- CPU cooler could reduce one fan, and also creates better airflow. I will dive into the cooler options next.
Below the top carry handle an air exit is planned, (eventual when needed a 80mm fan)can be made to fit there.

So far, so good.
Comments & suggestions are welcome.
All have a great weekend!

Here some last pics with a RX480 graphics card in place. Just the backshield slots need adjusting and in all it fits the enclosure well. I did remove the discofan and bent the heatpipes back a bit, and now see and check if this cools it sufficient.

Hello all, its been a while…..
No feedback here on the previous posts, unfortunately. Comments are welcome!

Anyhow,
Still fine tuning the Macintosh ITX mount.
Small additions as making the original on switch functional, I did modify the GPU-slot-lock and made an extra support around the top of the GPU card, for extra mechanical stability. The RX 480 is now fully functioning adding an extra display to this setup.
I am happy with the results.

As my current wish is to create an easy way to convert most small Macintosh models (with or without modification of the shells!)
I found a Mac Plus - for comparison/ adjustments of the ITX framework.
As a result I figured that there are three base models: 128-256-Plus+ dereviates and the Classic I - II and SE-SE30. This is also confirmed by Adrian, (known from the Adrians digital basement). In general the basic dimensions on both types are almost equal, as shown in the pictures.
Internal, there is some variation. On my current frame-design adjustments are needed to make both configurations possible.

As for Hackintoshing, I've not come to that yet. Sorry

UPDATE!

Hello all,

The previous design has been changed a bit to fit the Apple Plus enclosure……now looking for the next goal to make this also suitable for the SE/SE30. Hopefully its a similar solution as with the Apple Plus by changing the backpanel, just adding extra centering holes.

(Optional) repositioning the PSU allows now the use of a standard AT sized PSU instead of the small sfx. (In case of higher power consuming GPU card.)

Also incorporating/ experimenting how to get some decent (better?) sound out of this enclosure. I got some standard speakers and a pair of enclosed mini speakers to toy with. External speakers are always possible, of course.

UPDATE!

Hello all,

For the real Apple Macintosh enthousiasts,…..
Adaptation for the Apple mini, or the new M-model….in case of a case….✅ Anyhow another extra decent option.

The SE model/case to measure out is not found yet (at a fair price), unfortunately. Anyone in the Netherlands who can help me out?

Hello all!

First thanks to Raymond from Apeldoorn providing me these two gutted SE and SE/30 enclosures.
After a quick first cleanup I dared to check them out.
Basically (as expected) the SE and SE\30 are similar shaped.
Clearly these cases are depending or leaning on the previous Plus model design as the SE frontpanel fits the Mac Plus backhousing.
With this confirmation and being able to testfit the final ITX frame I can now proceed.
