I have read that a patch can be applied to FL1100 to add/change back to FL1009?
So, I tried and saw no difference, does/should this really work?

I don't know. I haven't seen the patch or what it is patching. Sorry.

There's certainly a good chance chipset "spoofing" may work as you'd expect the same functionality - and more - in the new chipset as the old.

little off subject, SMBOS, just how to decide which one to use?
