Sicne I installed Mavericks successfully, I keep searching a cheap webcam with good quality. Ebay have a lot for it about under $10 but they are so suck. Finally, I come up a idea try to mod the isight webcam. After google, some one post how to mod it with a original wire to USB.

Ebay has one seller have A1342 isight webcam for sale only cost $4 with out cable. Will I able to convert it to a USB? I don't want to spend $50 to buy a new Mac OS X compatible webcam, I just want to give it a try. I am lucky can find out the circuit board soldering point to match connector wiring. After carefully to solder USB cable wire, FaceTime and Photo booth are working good with it.:p IMG_20140221_121801.jpg

How did you pin out the webcam by the way?
    Thank you!

PS: Does this webcam module includes microphone? if so, is it working?

Thanks for this. Your soldering pic.s were very clear and let me get this mod sorted nicely.

Only tip I would add is to make sure that the board is fully exposed (peel off all layers of tape above the board where you intend to solder to and clean it) and to put a blob of solder on the board, a small amount on the USB wire and then hold the wire to the board and reheat to join whilst holding the wire in place.

It is a tricky little solder job but achievable.

    Cheers.
