I figured out Apple won't let you even download Mountain Lion if they determine your machine won't support it. I've got and older MacBook so I'll be installing with Unibeast and Lion when the time comes (redownloading Lion off the AppStore now). How feasible is it to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion on a Hackintosh? I know there have been problems getting AppStore accounts to authenticate on Hackintoshes. I'm a little worried that I won't have a Mountain Lion machine when I'm finished building my Hackintosh.

If your macbook will run ML you can download it.
If your Macbook will only download Lion download it.
In stall it on your Hack.
From Hack download Mountain Lion.
There are fixes for Ap Store.
Most common fix just generate new serial number with Lizard.
Another easy one is just download with ethernet without installing wifi.

To check what your Macbook will do, go to Everymac.com and look it up.

Yeah, I know it only supports up to OSX Lion. Hopefully upgrading the Hackintosh won't be too painful.
What is Lizard?

Lizard and Chameleon Wizard are tools for tuning the booter and setting options in plist.

I had this same problem.

I suggest you install Lion, and then, first thing, get into the App store and download Mountain Lion and create a new USB.

Then do a completely fresh install. I used Disk Utility to wipe out the previous Lion install, as it didn't work for me otherwise.
