Hey guys,

I am a noob slowly making my way through a Mac Pro case mod. I am currently working on fitting in my SFX PSU into the Mac Pro PSU enclosure. I wanted to retain the back plug and had a quick question.

I am planning to splice together wires in the following fashion:
Mac Yellow/green to standard green
Mac Blue to standard white
Mac Brown to standard black

Attached are pictures. Basically I am connecting my SFX PSU to the stock mac connector to retain the visual appearance of the back panel. I will splice the standard power cable to the mac plug and then just plug the other end of the cable into the SFX PSU.

Is this reasonable?

I've done the same with my mac pro mod earlier this year, running fine. As long as you do it properly and seal it, you shouldn't have any issues.
