the industrial cutting is very interesting.
Ok it's difficult to have access to a metal machinery - or you need a friend that works with aluminium :)

I think that 3D print is absolutely too costly, here in Milan, and also online...

i was thinking the same with you that hard to access a metal machinery..
    but not :)
i did not know any person on these areas.
but with asking and asking to different persons around me, they gave ideas
when i wanted to paint it with a spray, one of my friend told me about oxidation,
when i first thought this idea, i did not know anything about metal spinning.. i never saw that kind of work.
even the name of this process in my language "metal sıvama", never heard about it.

i thought that no one will cut only 1 piece while they are making hundreds of item per day..
i just asked 2 different local laser cutting company that i have only 1 piece for personal needs.
    interestingly they helped.
and the pricings were amazing and unbelievable..
industrial aluminium laser cutting costed 4 usd per sheet. (they did not made the design. i gave the file in dwg format)
plexiglass laser cutting costed 2 usd per item/file.
aluminium sheets were 2 usd per item.
metal spinning work costed 20-25 usd

by the way, i just googled metal laser cutting milan (it doesn't have to be aluminium. just metal laser cutting firms can cut aluminium also)
    there are many places there
    here are some quick links:
