Hi all. I have graduated from my Hackintosh to a Mac Pro 5,1 but since I'm still running Snow Leopard you guys may be able to help me. (I've tried the Apple and Mackintosh forums!).
The problem is this. I have a dual processor card/daughterboard with two processors fitted. When I put the card in the freezer for half an hour (!) it chimes on startup and boots fine. It works for about two minutes and then the system crashes. If I switch it on without cooling it, it simply doesn't boot. If I remove the second processor it boots fine without cooling and works indefinitely but I need to use software to keep the fans under control.
Anybody any ideas? What I'm most surprised about is there seem to be no schematics around either for the motherboard, (backplane) or the detachable processor tray. Without these tracing the circuitry is near impossible.
apologies if this is in the wrong section, please re-position as necessary.
