Appreciate you're a hackintosh community, but I've found a deep well of knowledge for original Macs here previously.
I have a Mac Pro 4,1 firmware upgraded to 5,1 for 6 core Westmere processor. The new upgraded tray is a 12 core x5690.
I swapped out my Pro's tray, swapped over the RAM, and found that it had lost its boot disk. It now won't boot into recovery mode, verbose boot, run the hardware diagnostic or boot menu (the mouse cursor loads and the mouse works but no menu appears when this is tried). Swapping back to the old tray makes no difference - same problems.
Zapping the NVRAM does work but doesn't change anything. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.
