Well hello there, i think this is my first post on this forum, but it's for a good reason. I'm going to show you guys my ultimate project! Joking, just my humble Mac Pro 1.1 Convert Mod.
So sometime ago, i had the oportunity to buy an mac pro 1.1, so it had an PSU problem so i didn't replaced it as the system is quite old, and it wouldn't improve my streamings, i prefered to storage the hardware to try to sell it and use the case to convert it. But there is something that i wanted to do with this mod.
Everything has to be the most original possible. There is no cutting to extreme the case, there is no cutting the front for new front panel. No. The only cut i will do it's for the motherboard ports.
Here are some pictures:
This is when i took out all the components and assembled everything to see how it would fit.

Then it was time to test some mid-atx (as the pro case doesn't support the full atx.

Then with some old board, i took the motherboard backplate and glue it to the case with an special silicon

So the work was going cool.
So befor i show the rest of the project here are the specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955
RAM: 16 GB Ram DDR3
GPU: AMD HD6770 (Need to really change this sucker!)
PSU: Corsair HX650

This is my actual gaming rig, yeah i'm not rich so i have to upgrade has the time and money comes :O

Now the update, this was done all today and boy it was a good day :D

So what's missing?
I need to wire the original front plate, but for that i need to buy the atx power cable extender, figure it out how to connect the original mini sas to the sata doors on the board, adapt the psu to the original slot, and buy two fans for the front of the case.

Hi! Great build!:) How did you remove the metal plate between psu and dvd tray? thanks
