@Alpina335,

Looks good, nice clean install of the PC hardware using a lot of the original G5 case components.

Nice Job !!

Cheers
Jay

Hi Alpina335. I hope you don't mind this request for help. I'm new to Hackintosh and have been trying to get my system to boot for the last 12 hours! I have an Asus Prime Z390-A, i5-9400F, Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX580 8GB and Samsung 970 Evo Plus SSD. It looks like our systems are very similar?

I've used Unibeast with standard options, formatting the SSD to APFS, and then tried the config with OsxAptioFix3Drv-64.efi and EmuVariableUefi.efi and get stuck installing Mojave with something like 12 minutes to go.

Could you give me any clues on how you did the install please?

Thanks
R

btw - cool system!

Hello. It seems to be some problem with absence of integrated gpu. Try to set in bios to only use dedicate egpu port.

Thanks @Alpina335 for your help.

So, in my system agent section of the BIOS I've set Graphics Config to PCI-E only. I'm still not managing to get through install though. Did you format your disk for APFS or HFS? I'm also using a M2 NVMe SSD - connected to the motherboard rather than SATA. The installer can format the disk but could this be causing a problem with the install?

Cheeky request - Any chance you could share your Mojave boot disk - so at least I know that they are correct and I can continue to tweak the BIOS? Or at least how you built it? Did you use Unibeast?

I can upload my efi folder somewhere so you can download it and use it. You will replace efi folder on your boot usb with my efi folder. I can do it tomorrow. You must format ssd to APFS but when you will be in disk utility click on view button and select “show all devices”. Click on name of your disc and format it. I finnished my installation on 4th time. I used unibeast and multibeast.

Thanks, that would be great. Did you modify from the default unibeast?
With the default unibeast I get to "2 minutes remaining" on the installer and it freezes. I'm going to try adding EmuVariableUefi-64.efi as I think that might get me past this point.
When you said your install finished on 4th time, did it freeze for you and you reboot, or it rebooted automatically? When it reboots (or in my case I reset and reboot) I have 3 options in clover - external, APFS (prebooter) and APFS (Install from OSX). Is this the same for you, and which did you pick?

First 2 times it freezes in 2 mins left then I made changes in my Bios and made new stick with unibeast with Injected ATI drivers. then installation completed. next it freezes in second installation but after restart it finally finnished. heres my EFI folder. make new stick with unibeast and replace EFI folder in EFI partition. If you dont see it try to mount it with clover configurator.

Thank you @Alpina335. I've tried it and don't even get to the first Apple boot logo :( Looks like I need to continue to debug. Thanks for posting your EFI - I'll keep going...!

Hi @Alpina335. Would you believe that all of my issues were due to the firmware of my 970 Evo Plus SSD. I tried installing to a SATA disk last night and this worked. I then found comments in the forum regarding the firmware of the 970 plus. I updated the firmware this morning and sailed through setup!!
Thank you for your support - much appreciated - I'm not a happy Hackintosher....!
