Mac OS X 10.6.6 Update - The Official Thread

Auto-Update worked on my GA-G41M-ES2L - NVidia 8600 GT - no changes all works (well except the AZALEA sound but I have a USB sound "card" instead)

All stable so far

Software update from 10.6.5 to 10.6.6. Didn't have to reenable sound or anything else. System took it like a real mac. Unbelievable.

App store: Downloaded some free apps, they seem to work just fine.

10.6.5 > 10.6.6 with combo update.
Broken video
Install official Nvidia Driver (I heard Tony's fermi driver works too for this update), also I used tony's fermi drivers at initial install before this update.

(System booting from Chameleon RC5 from lastest multibeast)

mount fermi drivers DMG file, right click on PKG > open package content, look at subfolders, there are three pkg files (if I remember correctlly: graphic driver, display driver and open gl driver) install all three PKGs and restart. At least it worked for me :)

P.S.: On my install over Software update was everything ok, I just had to reinstall fermi drivers like I wrote above. I will try app store tomorrow and report here

bye :)

this method worked for me too. got my 1080p resolution back! thanks!

No problem, I'm glad I helped someone ;)

P.S.: I tried few free apps from store and all except HedgeWars are running nicely. (HedgeWars opens me menu only and writes error about unability to run game engine ... but that's probably in-app error. If somebody have time please try it too. THX!)

Updated via combo update from 10.6.4 and broke audio and networking.

X58-UD3.

Downloading Multibeast now for the audio rollback.

Says no ethernet card is installed in a PCI slot, see what reinstalling the drivers does.

Work flawlessly from version 10.6.5 to the latest one(v10.6.6), no reinstall required.

My spec you can view it on the left side.

All good for me via software update, everything working a ok.

Thanks for everyone's contributions.
