Hi Eveyone,

New to Hackintosh, so please bear with me.

Here's the hardware:

Intel i9-9900k
Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X
Gigabyte RX5700 Gaming
Corsair 32GB (2 x16) Ven D4 3200 C16
Samsung 970 Pro 512GB

I made a boot drive via terminal and then used this for the EFI (also attached my exact EFI to this post) https://github.com/wqh0109663/Gigabyte-Z390-Gaming-X-Hackintosh

The drive boots into clover, I run it and it doesn't install. I attached a photo of the errors it returns.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Stalling at that point usually (but not exclusively) indicates an incorrect or missing memory fix driver.

Suggest AptioMemoryFix.efi.

I appreciate the quick response!

Just added AptioMemoryFix.efi and here is where I'm at now:

Did you remove any other memory fix drivers ? They are mutually exclusive.

I did not. Sorry, I'm not sure if any others are installed.

Add AptioMemoryFix.efi.

Not sure why you think that you need eleven config.plist files.

Whoa. I'm not sure why those are even there. Should I also delete all the config files except config.plist?

I deleted the files you recommended and here is where I'm at now:

Hi GertyMcGee -- I just finished a successful install using very similar components. I have the same CPU/motherboard a 1TB Samsung NVMe and a Radeon Vega56.

Did you remember to make changes in your BIOS before attempting installation?

I would make the install USB using the Unibeast tool. There is no shame in using the tools provided here, especially if this is the first time you're building a Hackintosh.

The one thing I did discover, and I don't know if this is widely known, is that over the course of trying to get various components to work, I had to remake a "fresh" Catalina installer every time I had to reinstall the system.

There are many differences between the EFI that you downloaded and the generic one that is made by Unibeast. I suggest to start simple with the Unibeast, then once you get your system up and running, to use the downloaded EFI to stepwise add components to your config.plist I don't know what a lot of them do, and many of them are not in my config.

I will try to write up a post on my build, now that I have it successfully running.

Best wishes,

Ted

Hey Ted,

Thanks for the response. I ended up trying unibeast and got it installed! Obviously some stuff isn't working, but it's a huge step forward.

I look forward to your post if you decide to do a write-up.

Thanks again!

OK - congrats. I'm still tooling around with it. Are you using MultiBeast to configure? I can help with some settings that I figured out. The big difference though is our video card. Based on talking to another Hackintosher here he was having Sleep problems with his RX580 that were resolved when he moved to Vega 56. So when I went to buy a video card, I chose Vega 56. Otherwise, my settings may help you out.
