Next few updates for you all :).

UPS showed at about midday, without hesitation I quickly tore open the huge box and began dismantling, I took these along the way:

For what some make out, I didn't have a huugee problem getting it apart, it was a little confusing but after 2 houses its empty.

I've had 3 disasters today, the 3 mandrels on my dremel have ALL broke, Amazon's 7-23 day delivery will have to do... Unless somebody has a suggestion for cutting along that black line in picture 3?

I'm also having trouble with my PSU, its seems it doesn't want to work so I'm going to have to troubleshoot it tonight!

The case itself is royally fu... you get it... Grooves, scratches and scrapes everywhere. I'm going to have to sand it and paint it :/. But thats a job for later on.

Soo, more updates later :)

Fixed the PSU, the LED I was using to test it had actually blow #Noob...

The PSU board is on risers, which are being epoxied down:

The PSU is complete! I've fitted the HDD and SSD in there also, just using electrical tape.

The 2 fans just wouldn't work from a 3 pin connector for some reason, so I cut off the heads and wired them to the 5v molex connector. When the lids on, it looks pretty generic :). I'm happy with the result :).

7-23 days and the new mandrels will be here...

So for now, I've just fitted the motherboard inside of the case by using my 2 PCI devices to screw into the case, as well as the tension on the wires, they hold it up. I've ran an old front panel from a PC case out the back of the case for USB and audio. The mod will resume when my dremel parts arrive :)

Today is the day of repainting, it's gonna be a slightly more metallic repaint of what it is already. My girlfriend has made me a template so if all goes wrong - blame her...:D

I've stripped it out again, I attempted to rewire the front panel last night... let's just say attempt two will be tonight...

I'll also be back with pictures of repainting later on :)

Painting was put off until tomorrow and my front panel to ATX just went sooo badly. I've butchered the PCB behind the front panel for now and plan to buy a new one when I can and buy a cable from Kustom PC's to go with it.

I've been spending a few hours on wet and dry to take down some of the damage, it's nicer than what it was thank god... I also tested the pain, which comes up a lil' glittery but it's kinda cool so... :) never mind.

Check back later tomorrow :)

Okaay, so today I wet and dried the rest of the case, I also gave it a base coat of paint - to be wet and dried again later and then having a final coat.

It's still wet there but you can see the colour just about :)

While I wait for the case to get sorted, I decided the wire the fans using this guide:
View attachment PowerMac_G5_Diagrams.zip
It include all the fans and the front IO.

These are the fans now they've been wired - cooling my hackintosh which is sat on my desk, literally.

The old metal clips from the old connectors push nicely into the molex connector when the little metal clip is snapped from the fan wire. I did this for the CPU fan and rear fan :)

Basically I wasn't happy at all with the final paint job, so I painted just the sides with the darker paint I got in the first place. And it looks pretty swanky...

IMG-20140602-00228.jpgStill drying...
IMG-20140602-00229.jpgAll dry...:)

I'll also spray on the  with either white or the silver after I've done another coat or 2 on the sides. I'm only going to do the sides and I'm hoping they come out nicely. The rest of the case which I've painted has come up nicely, it was just the sides which went bad...

I'm kind of hoping for it to turn out like this:

I'll be doing the final coats tomorrow so be sure to check back!!
