Unfortunately what Apple claims isn't true. No changes to supported GPUs in 10.15.1 DEV Beta 1. RadeonX6000 is missing, 5700(XT) device IDs are not included anywhere, Navi cards are not recognized as before. Looks like they either published that changelog by mistake or simply forgot to include the new drivers in the beta release.

Its a pretty good sign though!

True, no difference in the kexts. But this is good news they made an announcement. We have Navi 10, 12, 14, and 21 code in the 5000HWserviceskext.

Navi RDNA support is the headline feature of the update. Forgetting to include that part seems odd.
Is it possible the drivers are not in the traditional location, maybe only activated when switching from internal to external, tied to Thunderbolt connection maybe.
Has anyone tried a 5700XT in a Thunderbolt eGPU enclosure on a real Mac?

Yes eGPU.io users tried it. Drivers are not included. They simply forgot about it. Apple's software team is a big mess.

The changelog addresses the current Beta 1 build.

It's possible they intended to include it but it contained too many references to unannounced product and had to yank it.

Not likely as the existing code snippets contain Navi 10 (5700-5700xt), Navi 12, Navi 14, Navi 21. The later 3 are unreleased cards.
