the 6870 is a good choice...lots of people on here with the dual fan xfx model. Also, any of the gtx 500 series cards work well.

It really just depends on how you use your computer. If you run applications that are cuda enabled (adobe creative suite apps, for example) then the hardware acceleration is worth it. Otherwise, I'd say stick with a 6870. You might also want to consider waiting for mountain lion before upgrade your card as it will likely have support for newer radeon cards.
