core i5 2500k OC'd to 4.2
gigabyte p67 mobo
16GB gskill ripjaws
corsair force 80gb sdd

60 tracks. My 2007 Mac Pro quad 2.66/7GB ram/600GB WD Velociraptors in RAID0 machine that I upgraded from could do 23.

Well it turns out i was missing something critical. I went into my BIOS and turned on EIST. I can now run 45 tracks comfortably and my geekbench score has doubled too.

What's the EIST and where in the BIOS can I find it?
I cannot find anything like that.
-gig

Edit** Found it deep in my BIOS where noobs are not supposed to be.

Hi all in the forum,
excuse me please if here is not the place for my question.
i need know where i can find the logic's number for 9.1.4------main stage 2.01 and 2.1.3---waveburner 1.6.1
thank you very much

On my core i7-2600 hackintosh i'm getting 77 tracks

36

GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3
i3 2100
8gb Corsair XMS 1333MHz
Internal sound (Realtek)
Nvidia 210 (DDR2, 512MB)
Seagate 250gb Sata II
Lion 10.7.2
Logic 9.1.5

Not bad for low end hack :)

* backup your hd
* upgrade to 10.7.2
* disable turbo
---benchmark---

then:
* TRY A: disable power management (this will make your system run hot)
---benchmark---
* TRY B: disable HT---
---benchmark---

Also you should be able to clock the 970 to 3.8-4Ghz without adding to many volts.
Why did you buy a 970 anyway :p?

p.s.: I have the same problem "Jabulani Jonny" has - Logic Pro showing CPUs as 100% but activity monitor between 65-100%. It "might" be related to HyperThreading, or to PowerManagement. No idea.

As a follow up on my post, I did try with HT off and had a negative performance impact. I may have tried disabling powermanagement too, but can't remember. Mine's been running great and I've had no issues with running out of processing power, so it really is just an exercise to see where you shake out.

Logic Pro 9.1.6 64 Bit

Setup in sig.

Running Sophos antivirus / little snitch & other apps in the background ( too lazy to turn them off :) )

77 Tracks stable

84 Tracks max as long as you dont select any pull down windows !!!

note: All 8 cores according to iStat were around 50-55% utilisation @ 48 'c
