Re: Guide - New ATI Kexts from iMac 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX
second edit Nov 30th
Reducing my OC a few 100Mhz fixed the problem of all the benchmarks. OC
They all report resonable increases for upgrade of 8400 to 5770.
All is WELL with my MSI r5770 and both 10.6.7 and 10.7.2
--------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
Installed MSI r5770 Performance reduced to less that 1/2 of previous with nVidia 8400GS
Tested with Geekbench and Cinebench. Both about 50% of previous.
I will post in a separate thread with details & asking for suggestions.

I hope what I want to do is easier than others-
MSI r5770. I only want to use it 10.6.7 with the DVI port. Single monitor.
Do I have to do anything other than:
ATIconfig=Vervet?
Why do I think it might be easier?
There is support for 5770 in new Chimera.
Do I have to install Chimera separately after using Multibeast 3.9 [the last one we are supposed to use with Snow Leopard]?
EDIT:
I ask because after reading much of this thread since March I do not know what I have to do NOW to make my card work properly.
Seems everything has changed with new Multibeast, New Chimera.
Another question:
I saw something about putting the FrameBuffer in com.apple.boot.plist [or the tonymac equal] in the EFI section. Is that the free form hex section that formerly came from OSX Tools/Studio? or does Chimera now support <key>Aticonfig</key> <string>TheFB thatNowWorks</string> ?
