The edits, if done properly, have not cause a boot failure. I can not provide an edited dsdt, however, I can review a dsdt you have edited.

I gave another shot at making the edit. I am attaching the original sabertooth x58 DSDT and the edited one which gives following error on compiling

/Users/rohiniagarwaldr/Library/Application Support/EvOSoftware/DSDT/DSDTFiles/dsdt.dsl 7046: Notify (\_SB.PCI0.P0P1, 0x02)
Error 4064 - Object does not exist ^ (\_SB.PCI0.P0P1)

Easy solution:
Run DSDTSE, open dsdt
Search: P0P1
Replace: PEGP
Compile
Install

Hi,

I'm trying to get HDMI audio working on my computer. I'm getting a problem though when i'm following you're guide. My problem is at Step. 4 Edit DSDT at "f. compile".

I replaced the P0P1 part in my DSDT.aml with the "Generic DSDT_HDMI_Audio_Edit" and now I get 7 errors when I try to compile the DSDT.. (only thing I did was paste it over the P0P1 and change the display address to 0x00030000)

Hope somebody can help me!

*I attached a copy of the IORegistryExplorer file and the DSDT that gives me 7 errors

hello knul

Did you have a ATI Cards no ?

IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpert/PCI0@0/AppleACPIPCI/NPE3@3

if you have a ATI readon 3000 as mentioned

please remake your DSDT as before the modification
because all the error are related to the P0P1 that you delete

and also this method is for NVIDIA cards

I have a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

I attached the unmodified DSDT with this post. When I replace the P0P1 with "AMD_GE=Y-DSDT_HDMI_Audio_Edit - Complete (Same as Generic)" instead of the one I tried before it gives me 3 errors..

this method can't work on your system as you have a ATI cards and not a nvidia
i will try to search if there are any information about the ATI cards
but here all this methods can work only with NVIDIA cards

Aaahh, I didn't get that.. I saw stuff about HD 6870, also in that "DSDT-HDMI_Audio_Edits_v3" file so I thought it should have worked..

And the guide also says "2a. Discrete Graphics - AMD/Nvidia". With part 3 there is even a differect section for AMD and Nvidia "3a. AMD HD 5xxx and HD 6xxx".

So I'm kinda wondering if I'm looking in the wrong place or did I completely misread something? Or is it just not possible with the graphics card I have..

Sacaman, you completely incorrect. The display address has nothing to do with the manufacturer of graphics card. Further, as the title of the thread states, this guide applies to both AMD and Nvidia discrete graphics cards. Without subject matter knowledge, please do not post on this or any other topic.
