I've been trying to get audio via HDMI from my 4850 without success. I read many articles and tutorials, including "Lion HDMI Audio" and its three parts. I know it was not made for 48xx, but I gave it a try and went as far as possible (and yes, it failed).
Does anyone know how to make it work, or has ever heard of someone who did it?

Without any information about what failed, it is difficult to help. The dsdt edits are the same for all AMD graphics cards. See this thread for ATI4000Controller.kext edits http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=249642.

I read that thread and asked for help (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... &p=1788915), but I'm still waiting for someone to answer over there. I posted some information, is that what you need?

Edit: I'm going over your tutorial again, everything is going fine until the very last part, ATI4800Controller Binary Edit. When I decode the BIOS, I get this:
(This is from my VisionTek HD 4850 512 MB)
Code:

There's no explicit HDMI port, which is fine since I use a DVI to HDMI adapter (with audio, of course, it's working on Windows).

And my personality, MotMot:
Code:
Personality: MotMot
ConnectorInfo count in decimal: 2
Disk offset in decimal 462408
0000000 00 04 00 00 04 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 00 02 03 // Display Port
0000010 04 00 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 01 11 01 04 // Dual Link DVI
0000020

Again, there's no HDMI (starting with 00 08). I'm lost at this point.
