Intel 620, 1920x1080
I successfully installed 10.9 Mavericks over top of an existing installation of Mountain Lion 10.8.5.

For the 10.8.5 installation, I drew heavily from the fine thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...ork-progress-lenovo-z580-ml-installation.html

My Z580 has the following:

i5-3210M
6 GB RAM
HD4000 Graphics

I am including all of my files. If you don't have the same processor, don't even think about using my included DSDT.

Installation was:
Have a working 10.8.5 installation using thread referenced above.
Install 10.9 onto the same partition over top of the 10.8.5 installation (did not erase).
Install all kexts.
Install bootloader.
All other files were already installed for the 10.8.5 installation, but I'm providing them anyway.

Note:
Files in usr-bin folder go into /usr/bin, set as root:wheel
File in Library-LaunchDaemons goes into /Library/LaunchDaemons, set as root:wheel
I replaced my wi-fi with an AR5B95 and the included injector kext is for that

Here's how I got USB 3 to work WITH sleep under Mavericks while keeping XHCI:

I've also updated AppleSmartBatteryManager as per Rehabman's thread:
https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Battery-Driver

I also needed to update VoodooPS2Controller to a Mav version:
https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller
(I edited the plist of the keyboard to include the special keys of volume up/down on my Z580 too)

Been looking for it for a long time. My computer is the same as yours, thank you very much for the truly welcomed you wrote....:clap:

I've followed your guide and also got to Mavericks with little issue. Just curious: using the onboard bluetooth (Broadcom) with the ID specs provided by birkley, can you pair a device to the Lenovo? It sees it, discoverable, but for the life of me I can't pair a Microsoft bluetooth mouse, Apple's keyboard, or an iPad. The iPad sees the bluetooth device, but it just won't appear on the Lenovo.

I started with a virgin 10.8.5 using Unibeast and updated to 10.9 using Unibeast.

:banghead:

I've updated my profile to reflect the current hardware. Basically, I've done the following:
1) Installed MacOS Snow Leopard DVD in a VM
2) Upgraded the VM to 10.6.8.
3) Purchased Mountain Lion 10.8.5 from the Apple Store.
4) Using UniBeast, created the USB thumb drive
5) Booting from the USB stick, wiped the built-in HD (500Gb WD 7200 rpm) and created two partitions.
6) Installed Mountain Lion and using the instructions provided by rfl156, was able to get sound (stereo), 1366x768 resolution, and bluetooth working (by adding the Broadcom device into the plist).
7) Added the USB wireless for internet connectivity.

Upgraded to Mavericks, applied the patches provided by rfl156 in this thread.

My issue is that Mavericks recognizes the bluetooth adapter (built-in) and an Azio BTD-V201 (which uses the other chipset). It says the bluetooth adapter is discoverable and actively searching. Yet my Microsoft Mouse 5000, Apple Wireless keyboard, and Apple Magic trackpad cannot be discovered.

The machine dual-boots into a collection of Microsoft VHDs. All three devices are recognized in Windows and pair instantly.

So is anyone else having issues pairing a bluetooth device to this laptop? If yours works, did you originally have 10.8.3 when the bluetooth did work?

Thank you for this super helping script how to make it happens on Z580, but i have couple issues and dont know from where to start and how.
*** }1. HDMI dont work (video){ Solved, was my bad. ***
But with headphones still have problems.
2. Side ports for headphones (audio and mic) dont work and system dont even see them.
Can you help me with advice how to make them work?
Tnx one more time, and sorry for bad english.

I'm facing the dreaded AICPM kernel panic. I've tried several DSDTs and SSDTs; patched kexts and still can't get my Z580 w/ i5-3210M to work with the power-management. I'm using a Unibeast 3.0.1 install with 10.9.1

Anyone else run into this?

Hi Birkley,

I was using your dsdt file on my previous system and there were no problem. But after upgrade 10.8.5 to 10.9 mav, my system has lost its stability, volume up/down key senses too late, cant see my battery level. Could you tell me what differences you ve done? And also the steps that i need to follow while upgrading? Do change ur bootloader into clover efi ?
