Same problem with my Desktop.I found that i can use only the version which doesn't support Sierra.
Delete the kext expect of Fakesmc doesn't help.
Don't know why.
My Desktop has problems after update, either, but different response in verbose mode.
[Success] ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS Dual E5-2620 v2 GTX660Ti 32Gb
Maybe i make some mistakes with clover settings, could anyone take a look?
Thanks!

"Waiting for DSMOS" without a corresponding "DSMOS has arrived" implies that FakeSMC is missing or not loading.

Yes, now my laptop works.
Thanks!
Could you also take a look at my Desktop problem? :)
It halted at "AppleACPICPU" every time.

I have an x240 that I'm about to try this on (first time not as a VM) - can you confirm that you got Sierra to work?

Yes.
Now running 10.12.2.
Except intel wifi everything works fine.
I have already bought a DW1830, next month i will try to flash bios to solve x240 wificard whitelist problem.

Wow! I'm starting a new job on Monday, so I won't have time to do much experimenting myself, so I will shamelessly ride your coattails to success. Looking forward to your endeavors!

Get it.
Following the x230's guide in bios-mod forum.

Hi kevin335200,
How did you get your battery level working ? I didn't find any DSDT patch for the x240. I tried the one for T440p but without success.
My laptop is:
X240 i5 4200U
HD4400 1366x768
Wifi dongle: Dw-121 or Asus N-13
Sierra 10.12.3 with imessage working

Actually, the patch (bat) T440p works fine after i applied:
IRQ fix
Mutex fix
HPET fix
RTC fix
7 and 8 series USB fix

The only thing is that every 30 sec, the power supply switch from "Battery" to "Power Adapter" for 1/4 sec
and switch back to "Battery" immediately.
That causes a refresh of the icons on the top bar of the desktop, not enough to disturb.
It is more visible if i open the Energy Saver setting in the System Preferences.
I wonder if it can harm the electronic components of my X240.

Note: I don't have internal battery and use only an external one
