yes sound is working ... new gen_dumping

problems that remain:
- can not turn on "show battery status"

- changing display brightness not working using FN+F5 / FN+F6

Can someone help to fix the battery issue? Battery status is shown in the menu bar (upper right) at this point but is fixed to 0%. Seems as if the battery is just not recognised by the system.

Another thing that I found is that the FN key is not recognised for some reason. I use keyboard layouts from this source https://github.com/adrelino/mac-german-ibm-keylayout.

For battery have you tried this?

Also if your keyboard uses voodoops2 then its quite easy to have all keys working just follow rehabman mojave guides

I have discarded my T480s and have bought a new X1 Yoga. For that reason I will no longer maintain my pursuit of getting a T480s to run with Catalina.

@paulcristo: I certainly got macOS Catalina to run on the T480s. Please check the GitHub link in the original post for details. I had to switch out the SSD and the WiFi card (only necessary if you rely on WiFi).
