I see... you have the win8 version... mine is the non touch with win7 and a bigger ssd

regarding dsdt. you can do a diff of the dsdts and just patch the differences knowing which patches affect what so as not to disturb the stuff inherent on your machine.

btw, which smbios are you using? I'm using MBA 5,1

Mine is MBA 5,2.

So as i can see i have the same U310 as you, but with a less muscle in the processor. But i have to say that is way better in Mac than Win7.

Is that why i don't need the Atheros patch included in your DSDT and want to refine and "of course" learn to build a DSDT. My U310 functions in the same way with your DSDT and the one i build with the help of Rehabman and XMYUKON. I only waiting for the awesome XHC patch, that your DSDT have inside.

Surprisingly although our system have different processors, the memory positions and directions are identical.


I have the atheros 9280 and should work out of box, but the dsdt edits are there just so that it shows up nice in the system info screen. It's purely cosmetic.

for xhc, you can take my xhc changes and apply it to your dsdt (always keep a backup just in case).

I originally used the MBA5,2 smbios but switched to the 5,1 cuz it was closer spec to the U310 and seems to work better.
 
We tried using PXHCD for USB3 on the ProBook and it was not stable. And generally, you only use it for non-Intel USB3. Hang tight to when I have more time to analyze the XHC patches in ikkoku's DSDT.

I think this was the patch I used (or a derivative of it) probably and older version of it since I did it in June/July

I'm using mba 5,2. I tried to do the DSDT edit, but failed. Where did you get mba5,1? It's not a preset in chameleon wizard. 5,1 IS a better match.

If you can tell me where you got/created/found 5,1 I would appreciate it.

you can experiment and do a quick test with this one if you like. Not promising it will fix anything, but the fun part is the experiment right? :)

That is the patch that works for me I believe. If rehabman can add that to his patch repository that would be awesome. I personally don't know how to manually add it in.
 
I'm using mba 5,2. I tried to do the DSDT edit, but failed. Where did you get mba5,1? It's not a preset in chameleon wizard. 5,1 IS a better match.

If you can tell me where you got/created/found 5,1 I would appreciate it.

which dsdt edit failed? the patch I posted?

I used another tool (can't remember which one on top of my head). I searched many places and also requested an MBA5,1 smbios from the chameleon wizard thread to no avail.

Hey no worries. Progress is progress. That UHC patch should give me a start in understanding. Me ... Watching football at the moment ... Nice work guys there is lots of good information in the recent posts.
