now I'm confused. Should I be looking somewhere else?

BTW, do you have definitive location for your DSDT? This thread is very confusing because no information has been maintained in post #1. I'm seeing some mixed stuff reviewing DSDTs:

- some people using device-id map to 7-series when they already have 7-series. unecessary
- some 6-series ids used on 7-series
- some 6-series "style" EHC patches with 7-series ids... (might be an interesting discovery)
- etc

BTW, the "instant wake" is a problem on the 4x40s as well, but we have an option in BIOS to disable "Wake on USB"...

It is not a separate option. It is this patch (patches a copy of capri in the Desktop folder):
Code:
sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x04\x00\x00\x81.{107}\x04\x00\x66\x01.{108}|\x08\x00\x00\x06\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x02\x00\x11\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x04\x00\x66\x01\x01\x02\x04\x02\x00\x00\x00\x04\x00\x00\x00\x01\x00\x00\x00\x20\x10\x07\x00\x00\x10\x07\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x05\x03\x00\x00\x02\x00\x00\x00\x30\x02\x00\x00\x02\x05\x00\x00\x00\x04\x00\x00\x07\x01\x00\x00\x03\x04\x00\x00\x00\x04\x00\x00\x07\x01\x00\x00\x04\x06\x00\x00\x00\x08\x00\x00\x06\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x02\x00\x11\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00|' ~/Desktop/AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleIntelFramebufferCapri

It is a problem with the patching done to AppleHDA. I'm not sure of the details... Have you already posted your AppleHDA somewhere?

I assume you're talking about the PNLF patch ("Brightness Fix"), right? Do you have a brightness slider in SysPrefs->Display? If you do, but it doesn't work, then you should take a look at using ACPIBacklight.kext (use google to find it). It involves more DSDT work, so be prepared to learn... If your methods in DSDT for brightness work, then you can use it (not all work, for example the methods in the ProBook don't work, but fortunately the native brightness slider does).

Thank you. I am going to leave it alone as the are minor problems then that don't effect any core functionality. I hardly adjust the two lol

Can you also upload the native DSDT on which this one is based?

can't seem to find the original unpatched dsdt but it may be this one.

No, that one is patched already. You could do a fresh extract from Linux or Windows (or even from OS X if you can boot DSDT=Null).

Yes thanks, now I can very clearly see the diffs between native and patched (for the most part).

You must be using (vanilla?) AppleUSBXHCI as I notice some XHC patches in there (probably done as edits by hand). When I have a chance, I'll see if I can formalize those edits as patches.

Rehabman, if you could do that I would be EXTREMELY thankful! By the way, that new audio patch you have up fixed my audio issue using my native DSDT.

This is how my computer is as of right now:

ikkoku's DSDT:
Everything works. Only uncertainty is if my USB3 ports are actually running at 3.0 speeds. Sleep, webcam, etc are all working.

Native DSDT with rehabman patches listed in previous posts:
-When shutting lid, computer goes to sleep, then re-awakes itself after ~2 seconds. Not so on ikkoku.
-USB3 ports do not function with flash drives using "7 series USB" patch in rehabman repo. Only my wireless mouse seems to work.
-Audio works, graphics work, bluetooth works, etc.

KEXT's in use:
-Patched AppleHDA for ConexantHD (works well enough)
-Rehabman Synaptics kext (excellent)
-Rehabman Battery kext (to show in menu bar)
-2 Realtek kext's for wifi dongle
-Patched Bluetooth kext to enable on/off switch by changing the "broadcom" device ID. You can switch it off, but to turn it back on it needs restart.

XMYUKON Applying the audio layout advanced patch over your native DSDT, enabled the sound? without touching any value?

GenericUSBXHCI and USBXHCI , that patch could be awesome! The sleep-2seconds-awake problem is present in my case too.
