Hi,

I am testing switching hard drive between real mac and Hackintosh.
Because I need to use specific large size hard drive on both computer.
Do they are not compatible with large volume of hard drive?
When I install 6TB and 4TB hard drive that I've used in mac pro to Hackintosh, it doesn't recognize correctly.

I have three macs which are hackintosh(gigabyte Z170 mobo+6700K / Asus Z97+4790K) and real mac pro 2010 model.
And not compatible at all.
But I have two small volume of hard drive which are 180GB and 1TB, those are compatible perfectly.

This is what I tested so far.

  1. I formatted 4TB and 6TB in Real mac pro.
  2. I install them in Hackintosh which is installed by clover bootloader.
  3. Booting and the hackintosh said, it is not readable.
  4. I checked information in SATA section. It says Partition is MBR even though I formatted HFS+ in real mac pro. lol
  5. I install them in real mac again and those are working perfect.

I tested it vise versa.
1. I formatted them(4TB, 6TB) in hackintosh as HFS+.
2. I installed them in real mac pro.
3. Booting and the real mac says, it is not readable. lol
4. I checked information in SATA section. It says Partition is MBR even though I formatted HFS+ in hackintosh. lol
5. I install them in hackintosh and those are working perfect and recognized as HFS+.

I assume that hackintosh and real mac are using different code of HFS+??
Do you have any idea about it?
Thank you for you help.

sorry for my english but i want to help you
you must insert hdd in a windows pc and use a program like Paragon Partition Manager or similar. Set partition to GPT and Apple HFS filesystem. Now when you put the hdd on your Hackintosh, your system should read it normally.

i wrote the best i could :)
