Hi All,

I am currently setting up Mavericks on a Toshiba Satellite L730-018 (http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/satellite/l730/psk08a-018004/specifications). I have successfully set up Mavericks using Unibeast and Multibeast, and the laptop is booting up successfully, with sound and Wi-fi going. There is no DSDT or any custom edit. It is running using just the org.chameleon.boot.plist and smbios.plist.

There are several problems, though, which I need help with:

- The BIGGEST issue is very baffling. Every few seconds or so, the laptop stops responding, the hard drive battery comes on, and the spinning beach ball of death comes on. This continues for anywhere to 5 to 8 seconds, and sometimes longer, and during this time I cannot use anything. I just have to wait for the coma to pass... this happens regularly every few seconds or so.
- The laptop is running at FULL brightness. There is no brightness control. I tried the ACPI Brightness kext and others as well, but I have not been able to get any control over brightness.
- The built-in Card Reader does not work.
- The Bluetooth Adapter does not work.
- Every time I shut the laptop down, it does not start up again. I have to take the battery out and put it back in, and only then does it start up. This happens every time.
- Sleep, Hibernate etc., do not seem to be working properly.

I would really appreciate all the help I can get with getting everything going. If there is someone who has worked with this laptop before, it would be great.

Thanks!

Power management implemented correctly? http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-haswell-laptops.html

HD3000/HD4000 Brightness Fix:
DSDT Patches from here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch

Apply:
"Rename GFX0 to IGPU"
"Brightness Fix (HD3000/HD4000)"
- rename patch must be done first and to all DSDT/SSDT that contain references to GFX0 that you're including in your final SSDT set
- Brightness patch must be done to the DSDT or SSDT that contains the definition for Device GFX0 (search for 'Device (GFX0)'
- Place DSDT and SSDT (if necessary) into a place where the bootloader will load them. For Clover, EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched (DSDT.aml, SSDT-x.aml where 'x' is a number). For Chameleon, /Extra/ssdt.aml, /Exra/ssdt-1.aml, /Extra/ssdt-2.aml, etc.

Install: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-ACPI-Backlight

Most card readers simply do not work...
