Here is my configuration and my personal mini guide with some work arounds. For me this system is a best buy in the price range 1400-1600eur. It is quiet, fast, looks great. I cant say its stable until I test it with some programs. Till now everything is superb.

ps: ram is still at factory setting, i will experiment with this later!

WD RAPTOR 150GB

this wd drive is only for testing although its fast I will replace it with a second ssd or f3 500gb drive

my mini guide:

[1] First I installed win 7 on the SSD drive.
[2] Didnt know what AHCI is. Then I enabled AHCI post installation following this guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=575.
[3] Then I downloaded some software: iBoot, Multibeast, Combo Update 1.6.5, Lin2Mac realtek drivers and copied them to a USB key. Burned the iBoot iso!
[4] Flashed bios to FB if even I could flash it to a newer version, load optimized defaults
[5] Disconnected the SSD and F3 spinpoint drive. DIDNT REMOVE ANY RAM(FULL 12GB)
[6] Restart and to BIOS -> settings: AHCI mode, HPET to 64BIT, DVD-ROM first boot device/raptor second
[7] Now is the time to put the iBoot CD in the drive
[8] Followed the iBoot + Multibeast guide http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/iboot-multibeast-install-mac-os-x-on.html Everything worked. At the end of installation I put the iBoot cd back in drive and booted into leopard os.
[9] Started multibeast, installed the combo update.
[10] Didnt restart at the end(following the guide), Multibeast dissapeared, I reopen it. Then installed user dsdt and restarted the pc.
[11] BIOS time: I have set the wd raptor drive as the primary boot drive, Chameleon bootloader showed up but when I wanted to boot without the iBoot CD suddenly FANS GO CRAZY and a I hear a loud tone from my computer
] solved! but I still dont know what caused it...I just installed rc5... MAYBE because in the first multibeast setup i didnt rename the aml file to dsdt.aml but copyed to desktop the original name? please reflect my mind..
[12] Power OFF. Restart, booted leopard with iBoot. Graphics working, network didnt work after update but I installed lin2max drivers and then everything worked. The drivers can be found at following link http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/2010/09/lnx2macs-realtek-rtl81xx-driver-goes.html. Sound didnt work.
[13] Started multibeast again and installed chameleon RC5 ati experimental, 64-bit apple boot screen and ALC889 and restarted
[14] Suddenly everything worked off the drive without iBoot CD.
[15] Connected all win 7 drives and set the Leopard drive to 1st in bios!
[16] Now I can now choose between win7 and Leopard. Everything is working rock solid. Leopard is showing 12GB ram.

Tnx to all for help and for the guides.. tonymac , lin2mac and many other guys that helped me(notshy, gambcl, going bald, macman, brawlz33, Jocelyn84, slyooney, etc.) Hope I didnt forget anyone!!

now lets talk about what is got to be fixed:

- when I click about this Mac it shows 3.1 ghz quad-core intel xeon. Is this ok or there is some disadvantage? solved! start multibeast -> advanced -> smbios.plist -> iMac -> core i7 -> install -> restart

- i installed deathadder drivers for mac(mouse). Everytime I get into leopard the mouse is at the lowest sensitivity possible even if I had the highest settings before the restart. w00t? :) solved! I unistalled the razer deathadder drivers. Seems they make things only worse.

The only thing I hate is how the mouse reacts in leopard(acceleration) solved, a lot better now but I am still not satisfied! I think its just question of time until I get used to this "weird movement feeling". Download http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/ or http://www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/ for better mouse perfomance. I use steermouse for now.

64-bit, sleep works, audio works, networking works, system info is correct, multiboot works

what doesnt work?I dont know... I cant see my windows drives who are on gsata ports. solved! enable AHCI for Gsata in BIOS. You must set from IDE to AHCI 3 times in BIOS, not only 1 time. IF you set it only as showed in most guides you wont see other hdds in leopard os!

There is only one thing I am not sure about. Is this really 64bit now?

ProductName : Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.6.5 BuildVersion: 10H574
Bootargs : boot-uuid=2493A7A6-D968-3578-9D44-F5098D6227BF rd=*uuid
Kernel : Darwin Kernel Version 10.5.0: Fri Nov 5 23:19:13 PDT 2010
Model ID : MacPro3,1 KernelMode: x86_64
CPU TYPE : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
Core : 3103MHz Bus: 134MHz FSB: 536MHz
CPU ID : Ox106A5 (67237) Cache L2: 0Mb
RAM : 12288Mb HibernateMode: 0
SwapUsage : total = 64.00M used = 0.00M free = 64.00M

Am I running 64bit? It should be if its kernel mode x86_64 and Cockos Reaper x64 works(that is my favorite DAW in 64bit mode)

type "uname -a" into the Terminal, if the last word is x86_64 then you're in 64bit, if it's i386, you're in 32bit. You can also find out the info from activity monitor.

Hi kitkonis,

Could you tell me how you got sound to work under 10.6.5 ? I am getting KP at boot time when I use voodooHDA or a patched appleHDA kext.

I would appreciate to find out your dsdt settings and used kexts for sound.

My setup: x58a-UD5 (alc899) and OSX 10.6.5.

Thank you,
M
