I've tried the ApplePS2Controller kext, had more problems than with VoodooPS2Controller and reverted to the latter. Is ApplePS2SmartTouchPad kext different from the first one?
ApplePS2Controller is a very old kext....
VoodooPS2Controller may cause a lot of problems in some machine...
ApplePS2SmartTouchPad is a new kext much more compatible... try this....

MarcoMjet, I tried your suggestion, but unfortunately ApplePS2SmartTouchpad kext gave me the same performance as ApplePS2Controller. Very low sensibility for finger movement, undetected trackpad in System Preferences and no more than one finger detection at a time.

I guess I'll stick with an external mouse, as ALPS support has been missing for a while.

Thank you anyway, MarcoMjet.

you can try to install an older trackpad.prefpane

please post your bootlog....

I'm assuming a "boot.log" file in /var/log. I searched for that, but didn't find good info on how to do that. Can you pass me a link or info on that?

Thanks in advance.

go to /var/log rename your log folder to log.old reboot and use this:
https://github.com/syscl/maclog
and
from terminal type:
kextstat | grep -v com.apple (post it)

upload your actual clover folder
