Kext Loading in Big Sur 11.01 via CLI question

I have a fresh install on my workstation of Big Sur and I have finally added to my config the Maya44 card. The driver kext seems to not have the permissions necessary though. First question: was there any changes to file permissions in Big Sur? I doubt it but just to be sure.

Is this just a permission problem or is the kext supposed to be put somewhere else also? I thought all kexts from 3rd parties go in OC.
Hopefully this is an easy deal to fix.

i uninstalled the driver and reinstalled and I am up an running with my MAYA44 eX.
