Righto, I'm trundling my way through the iBoot + Multibeast method. However every time I get to step 7 (updating Snow Leopard to 10.6.8) I get a kernel panic towards the end of the update. It's just happened for a 2nd time and both times corrupted the Snow Leopard install so I have to go back to square 1 again. Any ideas?

As I write this, I'm wondering if it's because I'm installing SL from a 10.6 DVD, not a newer 10.6.3 or whatever the most recent version they shipped was. Could that be causing it?

That makes sense, I've been trying to run the 10.6.8 update straight after SL install, intending to run MultiBeast before reboot (as per the guide). Instead I'll run MultiBeast now, then UpdateHelper, then reboot and try the 10.6.8 combo update. Back soon...

Yep, it was UpdateHelper that fixed it. Running 10.6.8 now. Thanks guys.
