Hi,

I'm currently trying to get my new computer work on OSX and I'm experiencing some issues;

My hardware

  • Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI
  • CPU : Intel i7-5820k
  • Graphics : Gigabyte GV-N970IXOC-4GD (GeForce GTX 970 4 GB)
  • Memory : 2 x Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2133 MHz CL14
  • Storage :
    • 2 x Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120 Go
    • Hitachi Deskstar 7K4000 4 To SATA 6Gb/s

I got the 2 SSDs to install Windows and OSX on separate drives, 4To HDD is for document storage.

What I have done

  • Windows is already installed on one of the SSDs.
  • I have set my BIOS according to various advices I found online (vt-d off and AHCI).
  • I first tried to boot with an USB key I made with UniBeast 6.1.1 with El Capitan and Clover but it didn't boot and I got the following error

  • Following advices found on the Internet, I then tried with UniBeast 5.2.0 and Yosemite and I was able to get something by trying various boot parameters.

Finally, the parameters which lead me the farthest into the boot process were these ones :
Code:
-v -f -x npci=0x2000 cpus=0 nv_disable=1 PCIRootUID=1

But I still can't get the installer because I got a Kernel panic :

I don't know what to try next so I'm here seeking for some help.

Also, do you think I should try with UniBeast 5 or 6 ?

Yes, I figured it out and I have now a very functional hackintosh.

I don't have time to write a complete how-to but here are some things I remember :

OSX Yosemite 10.10.5 (last updates)
Everything is fully functional including audio

Some important points :

  • You have to patch the kernel of the thumb drive in order to boot (some tutorials out there explain how to do it)
  • Use multibeast to install VoodooTSCSync 6/8 Cores
  • Use multibeast to install the last Voodoo audio driver, it works, I just patched mine to set default input gain to 0 (The only remaining issue is that it doesn't work if I reboot my machine from Windows to OSX, but if I shut it down and then boot it to OSX, it works)

The only boot flag I need is
Code:
npci=0x2000

Tell me if you need any help

I have a similar model (ga-x99p-sli) and I'm stuck at Error:

Error allocating 0x46b0 pages at 0x0000000017467000 alloc type 2
Loading Kernel cache (0x9)
Boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting...
