Unable to move up to 10.14.5 on my X79 Hackintosh.

it kernel panics on boot with my custom SSDTs:
"panic(cpu 6 caller 0xffffff7fa1f335fc): Setting P-Limit is unsupported on this system"

if I use clover to disable the custom SSDT and have clover generate p/c states, it will work but speed-stepping is broken and stuck at the lowest speed.

been a while since I haven't had a way forward.

  • There are NO
  • Hardware SPECS of the " X79 Hackintosh"displayed on your post.
  • There is NO mention of existing Operating system from which the 10.14.5 update was tried?
  • There is NO verbose boot screen uploaded to show us what you had seen when trying to make the update?
  • There was NO upload of CLOVER as a zipped file from the previous disk
  • There is NO screen captures or list of chosen BIOS options used during the failed update.
  • The how and why of your questions depend up on the information about the Hardware+BIOS+CLOVER involved and what exactly was seen on the Monitor screen in its entirety.
  • Required hardware to suggest any troubleshoot are :
    • Exact Make and Model of the Motherboard+CPU+Graphics and these days, the
    • Target Hard disk type and connection to the MoBO also.

my apologies, I thought the 10.14.5 thread was to describe experiences when upgrading. I guess not?

Updates:
Upgrade path: 10.14.4 to 10.14.5

Specs:
Lenovo D30 platform, 2x E5-2670, 128Gb RAM
Clover 4920

P-Limit panic fixed by removing DSM method from ssdtPRGen'd SSDT

machine also needs WhateverGreen and iTunes fix here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...os-10-14-5-itunes-v12-9-5.277304/post-1959864

only remaining problems are a big performance loss, it using Geekbench 4 it has gone from
10.14.4 2912/28691. (single/multicore) to
10.14.5 2565/19445

for a loss of single core: -12% multi-core: -32%

I believe its related to the zombieload fix.

Hi b0bbyd33,

did you manage to get sleep/wake working in this platform?
