Hi Guys,

Just upgraded to a Sapphire Radeon 5850 1GB, meant to replace my Radeon 5770, and for some reason I'm getting little to no change on the scores.. While games and everything seem to be working fine, it seems like my card is not performing to its full potential..

As you guys can see the performance difference from Windows Cinebench vs OSX for the 5850 seems like too much..

Anyone know how I can solve this? Appreciate any help.. I'm running OSX Lion..

OSX Cinebench Scores
5770 - 53.64FPS
5850 - 55.47FPS
XBench OpenGL & Quartz
5770 - 513.18 Score
5850 - 512.59 Score
Windows Cinebench
5770 - 65FPS
5850 - 86FPS

Just ran the Unigine Heaven Benchmark and It looks like I am getting a boost of performance.. So I'm guessing the Cinebench & Xbench scores are inaccurate?

Heaven Benchmark Score
5770 - 817 (1080P with default settings)
5850 - 1262 (1080P with default settings)

Those look about right..

Hoping someone can confirm though..

Looks like the card is working perfectly, the Heaven Benchmark shows quite an improvement, also tried Mini Racers game and saw a 30FPS boost, so clearly am seeing the performance difference..

I'm guessing benchmarks such as cinebench and xbench are pretty much inaccurate and useless...

Xbench is in no way an actual graphics benchmark. it's complete garbage. Cinebench OpenGL test doesn't actually stress the graphics card and isn't a game engine too. Unigine is an actual engine and will give you an idea how the cards compare.
