I've just installed the kext from MultiBeast for Lion. Now the system report sees my JMicron controller card, but neither of the HDD's installed on them show up in either finder or Disk Utility. Is there another step I've missed?

Did you use the earliest version?
Did you repair permissions and rebuild caches?
Try repair permissions and boot -v -f and post results.

Are you asking if I've used an early version or are you suggesting i should have used the earliest version?

I used the version from the most up to date Multibeast for Lion.

With a G31, you probably should not use the most up-to-date. Try using the earliest MultiBeast for Mountain Lion and try the one in it. Some changes were made to the kext for later SB abd IB boards that may not work as well on the G31.

If the one in ML MultiBeast doesn't work, try one of the SL versions.

I tracked down and installed the earlier kext. Now what I get is, intermittent recognition.
One time they show after boot up, the next time they don't.
