With the M2 chip, Mac mini is even more powerful, capable, and affordable with a new starting price of just $599.

Good price but still comes with the too small 8GBs of ram in the base models. The on chip GPU is borrowing ram for it's Vram. How could 8GB be enough if you're doing anything at all demanding ? Who wants to pay $600 for an internet access device ?

At least you can choose 24GB from the factory now.

For an eye watering $400 !!!

24GB is right for me but the upgrade pricing isn't.

Please Apple, ram is so inexpensive these days. Make the base model mini 16GB. Crucial sells 16GB of DDR5 for $64 and Apple can buy it so much cheaper than that. At a fraction of that retail price. 8GB was enough back in 2013/14 but it's 2023 and it just isn't. Simple common sense.

What the base model Mac mini "should be" is selling for that magical $999 price Apple likes so much.
