iStat Temp not reporting CPU temps now

Hi SnapMan!

My system works fine other then this.
I just don't know what to check or do to enable the sensors. Is it some of the fakesmc plugins or kexts that are causing this?
I do have the latest FakeSMC and latest plugins installed. Yes, i used the system utilities. No change at all.

Hmmm, not familiar with the MSI boards or BIOS.....is it possible you have to enable some reporting in BIOS?

Usually installing FakeSMC Plugins does the trick.

You did restart the computer after installing the Plugins?

Yes, i can see the different temperatures in BIOS.
I did restart the comp after install as i always do.

How do you install FakeSMC Plugins exactly? I obviously know you use MultiBeast, but then what is this about using System Utilities [tasks]? What is that and how do I get to that?

I know this is a very noob question, but it would be amazing if I got it answered!!

Thanks guys.

You have used MultiBeast before to install, haven't you? You always run system utilities when installing or removing kexts....

FakeSMC plugins is located Drivers&Bootloaders/Kexts&Enablers/Miscellaneous

Check that box and the System Utilites....install and you should be there.

I tried something else to see if it would change anything on my machine.
I went from a MacPro4,1 smbios.plist to a MacPro5,1 smbios.plist.
Not only does my comp seem to be more quiet, but now i also have the motherboard and cpu temps showing aswell. Thank you to myself i guess. haha
:clap: :thumbup:

I also changed some things in FakeSMC info.plist swell.

First i changed this from smc-napa to smc-thurley.

<key>smc-compatible</key>
<string>smc-thurley</string>

Then i changed the MacPro3,1 to the MacPro5,1 SMC Version.

<key>Rev <key>
<array>
<string>{rev</string>
<data>
ATkAAAR
</data>
</array>

This was done so i could get the correct MacPro5,1 SMC Version (system): 1.39f11

Some people also changed these values to actually get all the correct cpu readings for their hardware. Maybe it's important for DSDT. It made no other difference to me other then showing the correct SMC Version of a MacPro5,1.
