Same problem I'm having, I can see the NEC controller, but nothing works. I can't figure out why either.
They should offer the same performance as the previous ones, but should potentially offer wide controller support.

Just tried the new Cal drivers. No change. Ports recognized as before. See below Renasas chip ending F1. Drives not seen.

4-Port USB 3.0 Hub:

Product ID: 0x0810
Vendor ID: 0x2109 (VIA Labs, Inc.)
Version: 3.76
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: VIA Labs, Inc.
Location ID: 0xbc200000 / 3
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 2

What are the other kexts that need to be with these new kexts. I did not run MB 5.0.2. Installed ML over working Lion.

I don't think the CalDigit drivers will work on Via chipset.

That's a hub, it works just fine.
The host controllers are the 800/801 and yes, it's very possible the driver won't work with them.

That was what I meant, the VIA USB 3.0 host contrioller... :)

Really wish we could remove the U from USB3 as this tech up to know is certainly not "Universal". Even on Windows USB3 barely works.
