Is this GPU Compatible with my build?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if the EVGA Geforce GTX 960 SuperSC AXC 2.0+ is compatible with my build ?
Right now im using the integrated HD4600 Graphics, but i need more... so im thinking about buying this one.

And does it need extra drivers or boot flags or anything?

My specs:

OS : Mavericks
Motherboard : Gigabyte Z87 HD3
CPU : Intel i5 4670 (non k)
Ram : Crucial ballistix tactical 2x4 gb
SSD : Crucial M500 120GB
HDD : WD Red 500GB
Power : Corsair CX 600 Watt
Case : Sharkoon vaya value ATX Case

You should install the latest nVidia drivers to get the card working in Yosemite. Check the build number of your OS X installation matches the drivers that you intend to install.

So this GPU is not compatible with mavericks right ? i would have to update to Yosemite... not sure if i want that tho... damn. Are there some similar graphic cards that wil work with mavericks??

There isn't the driver support in Mavericks or from nVidia for the very latest cards to work.

GPU cards have a short shelf life. For Mavericks options you may need to consider used cards as an option. See if you can find local vendors selling the older models. Prices may be higher for the older cards now.

I think il just go ahead and install yosemite anyway, at least then i can have a new generation graphics card instead of an older card for the same price or even higher. Il have to get used to it i guess!
